We used a spare GSLC as a PV recombiner. As designed these devices are awkward to wire. The breakers are wired from the back of the breakers to studs. They are mounted on a deadfront that requires you reach around behind the breaker to connect leads. We put a hinge on the bottom of the deadfront and use fine-stranded, ultra-flexible MTW wire so we can hinge the deadfront down for installation and service. |
We do not mount any AC breakers in the GSLC cabinets because the breakers are wired from the back and awkward to work on. Instead we route AC leads to/from standard Off-the-shelf breaker panels. |

Battery System. The bases need to be leveled to within a gnats-ass to make these two stacks line up at the top. |
Lifting UnigyII Batteries. We permanently install an aluminum I-beam to the ceiling. A trolley and chain hoist allow us to lift these 700 pound battery trays. |
