SLOTTING pvc |
Most of our wire routing techniques include the use of slotted PVC. PVC is cheap, readily available, easy to work with and corrosion resistant. We just need to get a uniform slot into the pipe. Here's how. |
Setup on table saw. Machine is a standard Delta 10" contractor's saw. Blades are spaced with washers. A Jorgensen Style J clamp creates a hold-down for the conduit as it is run. |
Running pipe through the saw. You have to cut the bell-ends off prior to milling. This operation can be done solo but an extra person helps. It takes about 30 seconds to slot a pipe. Afterwords, the pipe needs to be de-burred with a standard de-burring tool, a time commitment of another couple of minutes. |
